A New Decade

Well, an update on me. This weekend ended up being a GAL weekend. I'm glad I'm not a GAL freak, because it would wear me out! I was so tired today.

Friday eve went out for dinner & drinks with a co-worker & 2 former co-workers. A very nice time of catching up on each others lives.

Saturday, shoveled snow & went out to dinner & went to the movie Coraline, with my sister & 2 friends. Coraline was a pretty cool movie with 3D glasses & all. The 2 friends we went with are married. The husband was driving, in the snow covered streets when we left & my sister & his wife were telling him which roads to take. Then later she complained about him not having both his hands on the steering wheel. Through all that he was silent. I just kept thinking how annoyed he must feel. Me, I just sat there & listened. Strange how I pick up on situations differently now. Left a message with M3 earlier that day to tell him about some bands playing in Chicago & that if he wanted to hitch a ride with my sister & I to give me a call. He called back & said the show sounded cool & that he might go with us.

Sunday M3 called & said he would go. I totally thought he would bail & not go. Actually, I didn't believe he would really go until he was in the car w/us. Since he used to live in Chicago, he was our mapquest to the venue & really inside as well (taking us to the balcony away from the main crowd & the little mosh pit). Strange that during the evening M3 went downstairs to get a beer, I didn't realize mine was almost gone before he left. He came back with a beer for me as well - ah, how sweet. Later, I went downstairs to get us drinks & one of my H's old friends saw me. He said, where's J (my H)? I said, he's divorcing me & kept on walking through the crowd. I have to say it was a bit odd, uncomfortable & I was caught off guard. After the concert we walked to a cafe for a bite to eat & a drink. A very nice evening, good bands & fun company. WE all got on well chatting & being witty.

So, today I'm dead tired & dragged myself through the work day. Received an email from my H, stating he was back in the US & would call me tonight or tomorrow night. This should be interesting.

Well, time to go snuggle on the couch with my dogs
