Yeah, it still hurts but yet it does get manageable. You'll find the same old stuff won't keep pushing your buttons as much. Your pain is deep but not fatal and not eternal. You have partly healed and will continue to do so.
Back to an earlier point, this takes a lot longer than you imagine you can wait. But it is something you can choose to do. Lean on God, as you understand Him. I don't know another way to get thru this stuff. The pride that keeps some people from reaching out to God, often seems to be part of the reason they are here in the first place.
