It doesn't look like the paperwork is at the court but your jurisdiction might do it a little differenly than mine.
They courts "lost" a paper once and I had to have my notary go down and sign the papers again. She asked if they would go straight to the judge and they said yes. This was back around January 16th. Shouldn't it be done by now? I'm calling the courts.
Just got off the phone with the court clerk and she told me my lawyer was in there the other day following up on it. Ummm, would it have broken his finger to punch a couple buttons on the phone to call me? What is his problem? They told me he didn't get an answer so that is probably why he hasn't called.
The clerk went and looked for me and the judge still has the papers in his chamber. At least I know there is no problem with them, the judge is just SLOW!!!!
I don't know about the Court System in VA, but here in South Florida they've laid of hundreds of court employees, including the Magistrates Secretaries and some of the Judges Secretaries.
It has slowed down our Judicial system to a painful crawl.
It is worse than watching paint dry
Theres been times when I've actually told them I would come in and do vuluntary work just to speed things up, but then I realized they would probably make me file so there went that idea!
