I am very glad to hear this. no matter what is going on, try to keep being involved in this. let his departure for now be a sign that you need to focus on you. you need space from him and his crazy sitch, and he needs to get that straightened out. IMHO, it seems that he is being caught in two different worlds, that were before working fine as they were hidden from each other, but now that they are visible, he is finding it harder and harder to live in them simultaneously. Let him deal with his own evils, because you do not need to be involved or torn to peices by them.
