Vote early and often, I always say. \:D

It's amazing how remnants of the R/M remain. Sometimes good, often not. It does get old in terms of still dealing with any noise created by someone who chose to walk away.

Take care,

FL

Hello all,

Valentine's Day has bittersweet memories for me. It was the last time I ML w/ my ex. The event was about 6 months after he moved out. At the time I thought it was a way to help him "out of the tunnel" but in reality it wasn't a good thing for me in the long run. Just makes me feel cheap and used. But that was 7 years ago!

Since then I have continued to build a great life. Both kids are firmly launched...in college and doing great. I am happier in many ways now compared to how I was while in the M. The worst fallout from the D has been the financial one. Still struggling there, but otherwise everything else is great.

I feel more like "myself" than I ever have in my whole 52 years. That GAL stuff really does work, but it takes time to get over the pain and discomfort of radical change.

I have to honestly say I hardly ever think of ex...just on days like today that are sort of "in your face"

Haven't dated much. Have been on various dating sites and I might write a book about the bizarre and horrible experiences I have had there. Met one guy I liked and we went out for a few months, but that is now over. I would like to meet someone, but I have a feeling that when it does happen it will be someone I meet "in real life".

All you newbies to the D world, don't worry. Everything does get better with time and I wish the very best for all of you.

SG

Hi there SG, I still check in here fairly often in the hope of finding an update on an old friend. Vday was not momentous for me at all, luckily I have no memories attached to that day and all the old I will love you forever cards are long gone and burned. I guess not completely forgotten though.

One thing I notice, and I could be completely wrong, is that the people moving over from MLC are fewer and this board is less lively. The people are younger and I have less to offer. Maybe that is a good thing, I hope so.

What do you hear from our old friends, I hope they are well, I am the same as you I honestly do not have time to keep up in another place as much as I enjoyed it here. It's not the same because it is not familiar and not as easy. That's good, I am busy with other things I guess.

It took a long time to make new friends and it's an ongoing process. I hope some day to have a new relationship but as you well know I have been recovering from a bad one after the divorce so I am happy to sleep well at night, get up in the morning feeling great, and getting on with the day. One day at a time, glad you are dong well, so am I. We went through hell and came out the other side. Thank you for posting. Cheers, Wonder

SG!!
So good to "see" you!
You sound good, understand the financial part being sticky tho. uggh.
Kids sound like they are going great!

Do you post over at the other place much? I visit there maybe once a week, but really we pretty much all keep up on face book , do you have an acct? Lots over there and its fun to touch base more often, like we use to here. I understand tho that what we had here was very special and its a shame it ended , I know there were those who gave such great sage advice, and sometimes the mood was light, we had some laughs. Shame.

Always do right. This will gratify some people, and astonish the rest.
