Actually since my sitch began, I have lost 50 lbs. I still want to loose about 50 more though. I seem to have reached a "plateau" and I haven't lost any more in a couple months, but I haven't gained any either, so I'm doing OK.

I got this book titled "Ultra Metabolism" by Dr. Mark Hyman, and it really made sense. It's not about losing weight so much as about being healthy. I basically just eat "real" food. I limit carbs to mostly whole grains, and really limit sugars. I don't eat much foods out of a can or box.

Lately I haven't been very religeous about it, so that is part of why I haven't lost though. And I haven't been exercising much. I need to get back into it. Dr Hyman recommends interval (or PACE) training. That's where you only exercise 3 times a week, for only about 10-20 minutes. The secret is in the intensity, not the endurance. You basically have periods of all out effort, intersperced with periods of "rest". It seemed to work really well for me.

So, anyway, 5lbs by March 20th? I think I can do that. ;\)

I'm feeling much better today.

H was on the same ferry as me again this morning. Both of us were in our cars. I know he saw me, but he didn't call or acknowledge me at all. But then I didn't call him either. The cool thing was that I didn't really care! In fact, I took a nap during the "voyage". ;\)

I had a talk with my boss today about what things I could do to put myself in a position to take his job when he retires (which hopefully won't be any time soon!). I have the next 4 days off and at some point during that time, I want to do some work on a plan for my future.

I have a good job and make very good money, but it's not very challenging, or fulfilling in many respects. I have thought about completing my degree but I'm not sure I need the extra pressure in addition to everything else.

I did ask my boss to talk to one of the other "big-wigs" and offer my services to help with some other projects. That might provide so more challenge to occupy my mind, as well as earn me some more brownie points...

I also need to add some more GAL stuff to my plan. Hmmmm.....

Also going to spend some quality time with S17 during these few days.

And definitely relax and read at least one sappy book, and watch one sappy movie!! ;\)

Hey S, glad to see you are feeling a bit better. There are many ups and downs and curves on this rollercoaster so be prepared.

You are so fortunate to have a good job. I think the steps you are taking in regard to your career are good ones.

A sappy book and a movie sounds heavenly.

Enjoy!

Glad you are feeling better. Sorry your h was on the ferry again with NO contact. Oh well, he wants to be left alone then let him be.

You will have other opportunities to show your unconditional love. Glad your job is working out. At least that is stable in your life right now.

Hey, ((((BM & SC))))

Yes, I am glad my job is pretty stable. But, I am not sure if I want to go back to school and finish my degree. It frustrates me a little, because I have all the business and accounting courses of a CPA, and then some. I took all the hard courses to get them out of the way first....but then burned out......

My boss, who is the CFO of our company, has a degree in restaurant management (and we are a financial services firm! ). He only took 2 bookkeeping courses in college! So I have a LOT more education in my job than he does, but because I don't have the piece of paper.......

It would take me a year to finish my degree. I just need a statistic course and 7 electives! But I am very stingy about my time. Hmmmm......I don't know.....

Sometimes I think that I'd really like to go down a different road altogether. Years ago I had toyed with the idea of going to Nursing school, or being a counselor and working with families. Do something that has to do with helping people! But those would both take a LOT more schooling, and that means money that I don't have.

As I said, my job pays very well, and that is hard to give up.
