If you do your research you will find that you wife is following a typical pattern.
There is usually a year of torment, the "shall I, shan't I seperate period" - Denial
Once the bomb has taken place, there is a period of elation, the nasty dead is over. - The singing, laughing and joking with the kids. As if everything is right with the world.
This is short lived. The replay starts in earnest, anything to make them feel better about themselves.
Usually taking up an excercise, joining a Gym, the Treadmill, changing appearance, hair style and colouring. New friends often younger or Divorced and seperated.
However, they are not quite strong enough to leave. That is one of the differences between a WAW and MLC. The WAW will leave, not look back, and you cannot see them for dust.
The MLCer hangs around until it is a "fait accompli".
On a couple of occassions I told my wife that she must feel like a caged animal, but if things were that bad, go!. Even suggested friends she could stay with until the house was sold, but no, she hung around making my life hell for a further 2 years.
