I know it must be very painful for a person like you who is very private about their life. However, since you have to provide so much other information, I would be honest, open and upfront about all of it to your boss before I allowed some unknow person to take my job. Why would they just accept the caller's word for it? You are the person they know. Do they not realize how absurd that makes them appear, Or do they have to take every prake call as legitimate?
I know you can't divulge information, but it seems so crazy that they would even suggest that you see a mental health provider! You did the smart thing by contacting your lawyer immediately.
