Pearl, Valentine Shmalentine...It's all done for profit. If you can't show someone your love for them on a daily basis, then you shouldn't bother on the 14th of Feb. I just stick my tongue out at the ads and all the cards in the shops. I've been given some mighty strange looks, but who cares!!
I second that thought! I am usually a big holiday person and place a lot of emphasis on them. Since the S I prepared myself to take one day at a time - take things as they are -keep expectations low but comfortable. With VDay, I am surprised that I don't really care this year. It doesn't bother me -it doesn't seem to mean anything. Am I getting cold?

Hey all, One year I looked at VDay cards and found one I really would like someone to give me - since there was no one - I bought it for myself. Let's all buy ourselves a VDay card this year to honor who we are, why we are here, and how feel about ourselves!
After NC for a week, H called four times last night and today. The first one was ok - the rest I didn't need. I did try to keep it short, and stayed strong about not seeing each other yet. He told me is going sober, I said that he should focus on that and not worry about us. I didn't realize how tense I am when he calls or wants to talk. I thought I did good about keeping things short, and positive. It felt risky to say no to seeing each other for now but he didn't push it - that's a change. Calling four times in 24 hours is still the same old stuff.
Wow kassie - four calls in 24 hours? Did you answer all of them? It's always good to keep it short, but if it makes you anxious then just don't answer.
You know, I usually don't buy into VDay because it's so commercial. It's just the sappy ads that got to me last night. I'm actually excited for the day this year. I'm going to be in Vegas with one of my best girlfriends, and I'll be at my favorite rock star's concert wearing a hot new dress. Can't get better than that!
