Well looks like the sheriff came to town or some constable. I have been following the D online under Civil cases, and saw that Citation was approved to be served.
I look out the window just before 7 and see a strange car parked down the block (our street is very quiet with many empty lots in between).
Right before that I had called into work and said I was working home today. D15 had yet another migraine and left school early and was home. I told her don't be surprised if doorbell rings.
7:15 door bell rings - 4x - I don't answer. Shades all drawn in front of house. Car is now in front of house. They rang the doorbell in 15 minute intervals 3 more times. Then my phone rings at home...what a surprise it is H. They must have called him to say no one was answering. I don't answer.
Car leaves. I know they will be back and know I will have to answer at some point. H won't have me served at work because it will look bad for him. But I know that H and OW must be stewing about now wondering what happened to their "surprise visit from sheriff". Thank goodness for accessible public records.
I am not going to make this easy for him and delay this every way I can. I know I have 20 days after being served, so I will have my atty respond on the 20th day and not a day sooner.
It will be one month tomorrow since exposed at work, I have a backup plan to push that along which will be implemented.
