At least in the states you can claim benefit if you quit your job. I am not sure if you can do that here.Why did he tell you to quit and then have a temper tantrum?
He knows how much the bills are and what they are for, etc. This is something that we are very open about except for what happens at his batcave.

I think this has to be part of his crash and burn process. I just do not see any other way.
My FIL told me to do NOTHING--it is H's mess and let him figure things out. I cannot tell you how many times he has told me that. I have not spoken to FIL recently about finances. This is H's mess, now let him figure it out.

He makes you accountable for everything you do or spend. But he is allowed to do whatever he wants regarding the finances, his life, OW, etc. Maybe it seems like it is his problem, but eventually, if he comes home it will become your problem too.
