Ral, one other thing I must warn you about is talking too much with friends and family. If they try to question or talk to her about it, that will only push her further away. And it can make her resentment towards you much worse because she will blame you for reaching out to friends and family to put pressure on her.
Trust me on this one, I found out the hard way by contacting BIL/MIL and it backfired.
