My instincts say she really needs help. Does she drink or use drugs? Did you guys do so in the past? I mean that behavior is just so crazy that the fact that fil doesn't see that, means he may be used to it, or maybe was like that himself in the past...geez... hmmm, my crystal ball is not showing good things right now.
