Thanks all so much! I really appreciate it.

Unbelievable.. but the day after I posted that, got a tearful call from my Mom... and my Great Uncle had died too! He was about the same age as my grandma so it wasn't a total shock but he hadn't been ill or anything. My poor Mom.. lost her Mom early last year, and in the space of a week lost her brother and only remaining extended family she had.

All I can say is I hope the "bad things come in 3s" is over and the rest of the year is much better!!

I do plan to post more very soon. Unfortunately I'm sick right now and barely able to get enough energy to get my work done (and no real option to "not" work for a few days, especially with more layoffs looming over our heads..ugh). But I will post more soon.

Doc - to answer your question the relative is on my Mom's side (thank goodness, at least she has SOMEthing positive going on!). haha I like the slogans.. will have to think about those!

wow that is a lot of stuff to deal with already. My prayers are with you mom though, I would keep an eye on her as you've mentioned she already has depression problems.

Did you ever get to have that cleaning convo with H? you know when you were getting home hours later and having to pick up HIS mess?

So awesome about the ancestor!!! My only famous ancestor is Elizabeth Barrett Browning, the poet, her husband was um, forgot his name, but it's Browning. I think he was more well known than her. So is the guy gonna give you a free book??

Thanks all for posting (and especially for caring!). I will respond more soon. Awful day at work. I survived the latest round of layoffs... but about 50% of my team including some good friends did not. Spent most of today crying off and on. blech. Company only cut about 5% overall, but my team got hit HARD.

Tomorrow it's pick back up, dust off, and keep going... sounds familiar eh?

Glad you survived, but talk about a ton of stress. And sympathy for those who didn't.

And today, the realization that I am now responsible for covering my job plus another 1.5 full time jobs! Ugh.

I think it's time to treat myself to a massage this weeekend.
