I can so relate to this. I'm very much an English/history kind of person and math is not my subject. Another thought I had, b/c I did this, is when I was in college I hired another college student as a tutor from the Math Dept. (get like a grad student that's teaching and needs the $$$ but is basically a few credits away from being a professor.) If you have a college or community college nearby, they usually have a math dept. and they'll have posts up and they should be able to handle your son's class with no problem at all (not like us reaching back 20 or 30 years to remember it)!

Oh, and if you decide to go the hsing route I can answer a lot of questions if you have any about that. I've been doing it now for about 7 years. Some people are really fervently in favor of it or not, I kind of think it depends on a lot of different factors, and every child and parent is different (and our schooling in FL is not very good around here) kind of stuff. And we can't afford private school which I wouldn't mind doing either!!! Karen
