Hi Guys,

I've been out showing houses to some people for the past 3 days. Out again tomorrow. I sure hope that they will buy something! My house is getting messier. Funny how the boys can be home most of the day, but they wait for me to go to the store and get milk and bread for them. Then tonight, when I finally sit down to the computer at 10:30, S25 asks me to bake a cake for them. Hmmm. Maybe I shouldn't have bitten his head off.

Hi Guys,

I'm checking in too. Had a good weekend. Tonight I was standing in the kitchen, a little overwhelmed by the mess, and needing to cook. H walked in and just stood there. So I asked why he was just standing there. He asked if he could help. So I said, "Sure, you can brown the meat for spaghetti." So he started doing that, and I went about putting away the groceries, and washing the dishes and pots in the sink, and I was thinking "Wow! This is going well." Then I heard a crash, and I saw that he had dropped the spaghetti sauce jar on the floor after pouring the sauce into the pan. So it was a pretty bad mess, broken glass with traces of red sauce on the floor. I went back to what I was doing and let him work on cleaning it up.

This is where he really is weak. So he swept up the glass and got red sauce on the broom and dustpan. And then he went for my cute holiday dish towel to mop up the floor. That was when I told him not to use my "good" towel, but use the paper towels. And he said he didn't know that my halloween decorated dish towel was a "good towel". (Exactly, and he doesn't know that the egyptian cotton bath towels aren't for washing his car either, but I held my tongue.) He didn't like me watching him clean the mess, and he told me to get back to my work. Of course, cleaning up after him is my work, but I was holding my tongue. Anyway, he more or less got it cleaned up, and I rinsed off the broom and dustpan, and mopped the dirty area of the floor. And I complimented him on the spaghetti, because it really did turn out tasty. So I guess we got through this one alright.

Also funny. After dinner I sat down an sent an unsolicited email to my niece giving her advice on choosing a college. She is planning to go to college near her boyfriend, and the only criteria that interests her in colleges is the proximity to the boyfriend's school. So, since people on this board say that I give good advice and I am wise, I sent her a long letter explaining that of all reasons to choose a college, following her boyfriend is one of the worst ones. And I went on and on about how she is growing into adulthood and needs to choose a place where she can blossom on her own. Not 5 minutes after I sent the email, my sister called and said, "What did you write to G? She is freaking out!" So I guess not everyone thinks I give good advice.

Sara,
Glad you had a nice weekend. You did well with H and the mess. We all have to learn not to sweat the small stuff.

As far as the advice to your neice goes, we have to remember that teenagers think that we are "aliens" and know nothing. LOL! They forget about all of the life experiences that we have had! I can so remember my mother's intuition about things when I was a teen. I thought she was so crazy, but boy did she prove me wrong so many times! We live and we learn, don't we? Now I have become my mother and have that mother's intuition!

Checking in on you, too, Yoyo. HOw's everything going? Things sounded very promising with the new car.

Good Morning Everyone,
Hope everyone had a nice weekend. I enjoyed having a three day weekend immensely. Friday night was spent watching DD17 cheer and dance at the basketball game. Saturday night my girlfriends took me out for my birthday at PF Chang's. We had a crazy cat martini, very good by way. Sunday night I went to dinner with DDs. Monday I was absolutely lazy and it was nice!

H left for an out of state hunting trip Thursday morning and came back Sunday evening. I did not receive a call from him the whole time he was gone. Although he did send me a picture by cellphone of what he had killed. Believe me I would have much rather talked to him! I called him last night to ask about his trip. Well, I also had alterior motives, I wanted to ask about a check for the sales tax on the SUV. He was very excited about his hunting trip. I let him get that out of his system, and then I reminded him I needed to get a check from him for the SUV sales tax and that I could get it Tuesday night at DD's basketball game. He said okay.

He knew I went out with friends Saturday night, he had talked to the H of one of the other ladies. He asked me who all went.

So of course he continues to be a very puzzling man. I have no idea what is going on with him.

One of my friends that I went out with Saturday night has a very complex relationship. Some of you may remember that last spring that my friend and her husband separated because she cheated. I was very shocked, I would never have thought she would done that in a million years. They separated, got back together, separated again, and then got a divorce at H's urging. But the weird thing is that you would never know they were divorced. She still has her apartment, but spends most of her time at their house and they go on trips and such together all the time. They spend much more time together than my H and me who are only separated!

So there you go, my crazy life in a nutshell!
