I like the things you are doing. Sounds good. I think going to church is great.
And I can relate to VST liking a man who can step up and take initiative. My H never seemed to get that about me, that I am a "traditional"-type girl and want the man to be the man. Call me crazy but I enjoy having the door opened for me, having the guy pay for dinner, etc. In our marriage a big issue was that I expected him to lead and he thought that made me weak.
Sorry I digress there...
It is clear that you have developed a good internal radar system through all of this. If you see no red flags, then good for you buddy.
