Yes, the attitude is a good one. He's the one that lost out on this weekend, not you or the kids (even though she didn't get a ride, our d may have been better off being home). Things do happen for a reason and maybe now is a good time to just let him stew a bit more than normal. He's going to get tired of watching tv, shopping and doing errands over there. I can't even imagine him shopping and doing errands alone at this point. TV, yes...and maybe sleeping.

I am not sure of the rules in the states but your credit card over here is linked to some sort of security ie how much you earn, so surely at some point he will run out of credit and they will pull the plug. I can't imagine the interest he must pay each month whilst the debts get bigger. Please make sure you will not be responsible for half of that debt,even if it's in his name. It is classed as a shared debt between spouses. I hope the game was good and you enjoyed your day as much as possible. Did you ever check out the legal implications of all of this?. As your son is trainee management would his company do a loan for a car and deduct the money from his salary each month. I know some companies do that.
