I honestly don't think she "fits" in any where. I think she's just there and allowing him to sleep there and help w/the bills. I cannot see them doing anything together because of his depression.
Sit quietly, the answers will reveal themselves when you least expect them to. The past is gone, the present is a gift and you need to focus on today, allow the future to reveal itself when it is ready.
