Hope, I wish I could send some of today's weather to you! It is going to be 70 it is 60 right now, very windy, but still so nice. If I could wrap up the sunshine I would send it to you! You need a bit of sunshine in your world!
Good morning everyone. Yesterday was a better day. We had a nice talk in the morning, and H and I were able to talk without a lot of painful emotion. I feel like we made some important headway.
Our S22 came by for a visit, and later in the afternoon one of H's brothers came over and had a couple of drinks with us. After he left we had something to eat and watched the basketball game. When the game was over we went up to bed. It was a relaxing and peaceful day, and for the first time in quite a long time I felt loved by H. I mentioned it to him, and thanked him for that.
We fell asleed pretty quickly since we were both pretty tired, and slept until 2:30 am when we both woke up to a loud bang and crash. H jumped out of bed and looked out the window. Someone had just run down our mailbox. He told me to go down and turn on the outside lights, while he put some clothes on. As I got to the front door, I heard him say "Is that who I think it is?" Then he swore. It was OW and her H. They apparently lost control of their car on the icy road right in front of our house. They took out our mail box, spun around and plowed their Suburban backwards into the steep ditch in front of our house. H told me to call 911, and I did. He went outside, and yelled out to them, they had gotten out of the vehicle and were walking around in the road. She in her little mini skirt and high heeled "hooker boots". He asked if they had been drinking (duh, ya think? at 2:30 in the morning) and told them the cops were coming. Then he yelled, this is some lifestyle you've got! He came back into the house and we watched as the cops came and handled the situation. They gave the H a breathalizer, which was under the legal limit. They had to call a wrecker for the vechile, which is probably totaled, windows were blown out and one door was torn off. But, it seems that they were unhurt.
Our front yard is torn up, the grass, mud and dirt thrown all they way up to my porch swing. My H said if they had been just a few feet the other side of our drive, they would have smashed into our porch and probably been into the living room.
I told H that I want these people out of our lives, that everything they come near gets destroyed. He told me that he is sorry, so sorry. Then he gave me a long hug.
Neither one of us could go back to sleep, so we stayed up and drank coffee. Then he had to go out and salt our plow accounts. The rain is coming harder now, but hopefully it is also warming up. Our newly landscaped and seeded front yard and ditch are destroyed and my porch is burried under mud. Wonder if their insurance company will have to repair all that?
Most of us are about as happy as we make up our minds to be.
Hope, Take photos of the damage before the rain ruins everything. You'll need those in order to have the insurance pay for the repairs. Their insurance should be responsible for the repair work, but it all depends upon what type of insurance they have. You may end up submitting a claim to your insurance for the damage.
I'm glad no one was hurt, but of all people to do the damage! I'm glad your h is doing better and can now see just had destructive they are.
Take care.
Sit quietly, the answers will reveal themselves when you least expect them to. The past is gone, the present is a gift and you need to focus on today, allow the future to reveal itself when it is ready.
Yes Hope I hope you got some pictures. It is good that no one was hurt and that the house is ok. As auto ins can vary so much, you may not get the whole thing paid for and may have to go through your homeowners but either way, it will be fine.
You keep your patience. I'm glad that you two talked. As I was catching up, I was going to ask if your sons lived close enought to go stay with one of them if you needed to.
Anyway, have a good day.
If you focus on the past, you ruin the future. You can only live for today.
Thanks Snodderly & Kel. I did take pictures as soon as it was light. I wish I had the guts to do it while their vehicle was being extracted, but I just stood quietly and watched.
I am glad that no one was hurt, even as much as I dislike her I would never want harm like that to come to her. I even told my H that.
I also told him that I wanted them to just be out of our lives. He agreed.
Kel, both of my boys live fairly close. Within 10 miles anyway.

OMG, what a thing to wake up to! Why would they be on your road at that time of the morning? Do you live on a bad corner? wasn't another lady in your front yard a couple months ago?
As much as you want them out of your life they will be in it for a while now while dealing with who pays the cost of damages. I say 'zing em!'
I had frizzle here last ngiht and everything is iced over. A roll over wreck killed a 7 year old boy. Treacherous for sure!
I am glad you had a good day with your H. Try to build more of those so you can continue to tune out the rest.
Live your life while you are still living. Riding the trail less traveled.
WOW Hope, you know it never fails, if you could never imagine it would have been them, and it will always be! I am glad you had a good conversation with your H. I hope it is a smooth and comfortable ride for you for a while. We are back to being cold again today, broke some records yesterday with mid 70's! But back to 30's today. Have a wonderful day!
Good memory WCW. We did have another terrible wreck in July, but that was before the road construction was done. We don't live on a corner, but in the middle of a 1 mile section...
And, God help us, as the day has worn on, it appears that this was not the accident we were thinking it to be.
Daylight, a good look at the tracks and clearer minds have lead us all to believe that it was intentional. Only the hand of God kept him from burying the vehicle into our big old stone front porch. Dear God. H and I came to the same conclusion after walking the road this morning. We talked to the police this afternoon, and we will see where things go from here.
Family and friends has stopped by, and everyone is concerned. Everybody hopes that it was an accident, but no really believes that it was.
