Life is definitely about making the most of what you have and making yourself happy.

Work was crazy yesterday, am recovering today and tackling my to do list.

I actually have a real weekend as I have tomorrow off as well! LOL Yay!

Picking R up from the airport in an hour.

Dogsitting for my parents while they are out of town - kind of entertaining cuz I have to walk him when it's dark and avoid the office area since there are no pets over like 30 lbs allowed. He's only like twice that LOL. It's nice to spend some time with my puppy regardless. He'll be turning 14 this April so I know he won't be around too much longer. Makes the time all that much more precious. We're having a good time though.

And R will get put to the dog test today. If my dog doesn't like him, I can't keep him! LOL

Well my dog loves R. Guess that means there's some possibilities there LOL.

My downstairs neighbor is complaining my bathroom is leaking. We just went through all this a couple weeks ago. They worked on my bathroom, tore out her ceiling and fixed a leak, then put everything back together. And now she's complaining again. Ugh. Not what I wanted to spend Sunday morning dealing with.

Especially since I have a stowaway puppy hidden in my bedroom LOL. Oh well, at least he's being quiet.

Hey Michelle, thanks for stopping by my thread.

So that's how you do a test of a possible R ..... if your dog likes him???? ;\) Don't think I could use that ... my dogs are too yappy & not very friendly!

Well it's more like if my dog doesn't like a person...there's a reason why. Most animals are pretty good judges of character. My dog likes him and I like him...so that's good right? LOL

My to do list for this week is so long. Seriously dreading my day off on Wednesday with the long list of things to do. Smog my car, renew registration, defer student loans, work on D papers, track down the books for my Bar prep class which should have already been mailed to me, do laundry, etc. etc. etc.

I totally agree, animals have this 6th sense. Thinking about your dog scenario, I realize that my dogs & cats & myself are more alike than I thought. Friends have to win over my pets before they like them, they are yappy, shy & well, I'm not that yappy - but shy & reserved myself. Kinda strange when I think about it - how my personality & my pets mesh. Because of my nature men have to "win" me over too.

Maybe that is what my sitch, my M is missing. My H having to "win" me back. Ah ... the challenge ..... ;\)

Michelle - how cool that your dog liked R! That is most definitely a good sign. \:\)

Growing up my dog was hilarious - loved almost everyone, but once in awhile someone would walk by and he'd get all defensive, hackles up, etc. We never did see any common traits between the people he did this with, so I can only think it's some kinda 6th sense about the person.

My current dog is the opposite... dislikes most people, especially men, until she gets to know them. Then she seems to differentiate the ones she likes a lot and the ones she really doesn't like (those are the ones that get the growling and hackles every time, no matter how many times she's seen them). I'm sure her life prior to us rescuing her has something to do with this!

For the record she liked R a lot. ;\)

Still going to be able to make it for NY Eve? I hope so! Sounds like a busy day for you... just what you need, a party to wind down, right?? (yes I realize this is backwards..haha). This was probably obvious but R is welcome too. \:\)

That's the plan. R will probably come too even though his friend S will be in SF. Also, R's roommates are also doing a party, so might party hop a bit.

My dog falls into the category of liking most people. I think part of it is getting him from the SPCA when he was 4 months old and him having a stable home since then. But there are definitely people he doesn't like.

It is funny how our animals tend to pick up our personality traits, and vice versa LOL.

I had texted H on Christmas to say have a good day and say hi to the folks. He texted me back to say you too and that he's working on the D stuff that I needed him to fill out. Kind of a weird combination but *shrugs*

Today this stuff seems to be on my mind. Not sure if it's because of the holidays and the New Year coming up, feeling like I want different things in 2009, or the fact that R and I have been spending quite a bit of time together, or both. But I am definitely in a contemplative and slightly "enh" mood today LOL.
