On Christmas morning, stuff out of the packages and not wrapped. Besides, to me, the kids would figure out sooner that they may have recognized the wrapping paper.
So I've always bought special Santa paper that I use just to wrap Santa's gifts so the kids wouldn't recognize our wrap. And then hide that from the kids, too! Karen
