I would have to agree with Sofaraway...this may just be how he hits rock bottom...but if he is a danger to himself at all - or if there is any proof you can send the authorities - he could then get some help...it would be a 5150 involuntary commitment here in CA - so long as there is any evidence of him being a danger to himself or anyone else. He may be pushing you and testing you - and trying to manipulate you - and if you try to rescue him yourself that won't work - but it there are serious signs of despair they can't be ignored - and the professionals have to step in. I think you did the right thing by calling...I can't imagine how frustrating and frightening this must all be for you. You and your family are in my prayers.
