i'm just catching up here, been hibernating and licking my wounds for a while...

about the gifts/flowers/notes/etc i think what happens is we get comfortable with whatever we have. If you get them rarely you get comfortable and they lose their meaing. If you get them all the time you get comfortable and they lose their meaing.

being human requires constant change or we build up a tolerance.

an old friend of my fathers, a kindly gentlemen in his upper eighties, once told me he had nearly perfect hearing, except in the range of his wife's voice, where he was completely deaf in her tone. his take was that over the years of listening to her he wore out the nerve endings that picked up her voice.

i wasnt real big on the flowers and cards, i would do it on occassion, but gave my stbx stability and peace, financial security, a decent roof over our heads. i gave her beautiful jewelry that she always got complimented on, i made her mixed tapes, i gave her thoughtful gifts, etc. but over time what she had didnt matter, she didnt notice anymore. all she could see, and all she sees now, is what i DIDNT give her.

I'm thoroughly convinced that i could have given her everything she's missing now, and she would simply find something else to put on her "KenF Screw Up" list.

Hey Ken..glad your back..and I agree with you..

Yesterday..left work early for a dental appointment, then to Target for some last minute Xmas shopping. Got Guitar Hero, for PS2 Aerosmith Edition with 2 controllers for $79..LOL an impulse purchase..LOL..

got together with MHS38 last night.. never enough time but we are working our way around (the Kids on opposite weekend thing) as best we can. There is some attraction there for sure. We will see..Slow and steady..

no pootie was harmed or shoplifted

maybe a college basketball game tonight @ a local college for me..

Caleigh tomorrow.

Got the Kim-January-work conference worked out and Kim was generous with that..she actually gave me a little more time..and it was easier..I also offered to let Kim have Caleigh back one day early from my Xmas visitation..Caleigh is supposed to go back on xmas eve..all my family has to work Xmas eve so we moved our Xmas to this sunday..so I offered Caleigh back to Kim on the 23rd instead of the 24th. It works for me..

Ahh I am seeing progress in the co-parenting. I pray for continued peace between you and Kim in handling the issues with Caleigh for her best.

I have to say, the Jerry McGuire quote is one of my favs!

Slow and steady is good. Both of you have been bruised much by life.
