Hey Frank..I understand where you're coming from on this issue. I, myself, have put my W through rehab once.
A little background on my BIL. The family has tried to get him to rehab several times in the past; but as you know, the addict himself has to want treatment in order for it to be successful. Interventions aren't always successful. He's been lying about seeing a psychologist; when he's been telling her all along that he's been going. They have had several blow-ups over the drinking and I myself have spoken to his father about the sitch. He doesn't want to help himself out of this sitch.
She came home twice last weekend while he was watching his 1 yr. old son and was drunk both times. She's NOT made the decision to leave; she only visited L's to survey her options. All of us want to help him; but as I've learned in Al-Anon, AA, and the hospital staff at the hospital my W was in; no one can help him but himself.
