Shiney,

Sometimes under severe stress we can "dissociate" from situations and our very selves, in order to keep afloat. Is that what your sense of "disengagement" is like?

Yes...

And it appears to be in "spells".

H and I had what I consider a pretty good weekend together.
So I'm presently holding onto one of my better states-of-mind.
However, that now appears to be accompanied by a feeling of "fast-forwarding". Lot's of jaw clenching, light-headedness, and jumpiness.

Gads, I'm a walking textbook of stress symptoms.

I've been reading your thread in small chunks lately. Your latest posts have been deeply moving.

As a matter-of-fact, (hope you don't mind Shiney) for anyone who is reading this post, if you haven't already, I would highly recommend reading Shiney's journal entry from a year ago. It starts about midway down the page and the subsequent posts that follow through page 7 are a must read.
Not to suggest that the rest isn't wonderful, just that the highest concentration of gems are there.
