Thank you all for checking on me. I am still okay today. I guess it is slowly sinking in that I cannot fix/help H through his turmoil. I am strangely still feeling a bit more free today, than I have since any of this started.
I have a riding lesson tomorrow in the morning. Then I am having dinner with my niece and we will go to a tour of Christmas lights in historic homes tomorrow evening. I also plan a run for each day and a coupke of good workouts.
Have not been able to make it to the Krav Maga studio, too much work this week. Take my first Tango lesson Tuesday night!
Hi, Beth! I just wasnted to stop in and say that I'm so happy that you're feeling a bit freer. You're doing a really amazing job of holding yourself up, and as hard as it is to accept, you will be more than ok no matter what happens.
And it seems as though in many cases, it's only when you've set yourself free that your S can come back. Gonna use a terrible analogy, but here goes: it makes me think of every time I've every waited for someone to pick me up from the airport. I call. I set up a time. And then I wait.
And wait.
And when I've finally given up, situated myself, and lit a cigarette, it's at that moment that the car pulls up.
In any case, you're doing a fabulous job!
I've been reading through your sitch slowly but surely, and I've really been inspired by your bravery and compassion. Enjoy those tango lessons, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend. You deserve it!
JWM - I have yet to take a Krav Maga class, but I KNOW I am going to love it. I punched something for the first time in my life a few weeks ago (took an introductory TaeKwon Do class) and it was the most amazing feeling. For a much of a crybaby as I am and as much of a girly-girl with regard to clothes, hair, etc. I think I have a lot of male qualities to my personality. Either that or everyone like punching sh!t and everyone but me knew it.
Anyway, I used to watch the television show ALIAS all the time and I loved Syndey Bristow (the main character - what a totally feminine sh!t-stomping a$$-kicker). Then I learned the martial art she trained in for the show: Krav Maga. So, I have been yapping about signing up for years. So, time to stop yapping and start learning.
Nasmat - thank you for taking the time to read my posts and to write to me. I really appreciate it. And thanks for the compliments. I really have been up and down a lot but I have had a tremendous amount of help and support from people here. It is on their shoulders that I have reached any heights.
I need to get caught up on everyone's threads. Work has been crazy busy these last few days.
{{{Beth}}} HOLY CRAP..you used to watch Alias..OH my gosh..MY most favorite show EVER and, on this site, when people say to think of someone you want to emulate as someone who has it together, it's totally HER..I can't BELIEVE that you said that! LOL..ok..so now I need to check out Krav Maga..I've never even read up on it..
I am just in shock about something else we have in common ::picking myself up off the floor:::
By the way, WTG about having so much stuff planned for yourself for this weekend..you totally put me to shame on that GAL stuff girl

You're an ALIAS fan too, eh? It is sooo much fun to punch sh*t. I am so there with you.
I also like to shoot sh*t - not hunt, but go to the shooting range. If you've never tried it and aren't morally opposed to firing off a gun or two, I totally recommend it. I know a lot of areas have indoor ranges where you can get lessons if you need them, rent a gun, buy a pack of rounds, and just fire them off. You can even shoot at a picture of your spouse if you want. Might have to burn the evidence later, but....
I used to be completely addicted to La Femme Nikita the TV show on USA. I even went to one of the conventions. Did you ever see it? There were many similarities between that show and Alias (Alias came on air later, I believe), so you might like it.
Wow! I loved Alias...especially the first season. It got kind of weird after a while. I didn't know it was Krav Maga that she used in the show. I've said this before...I smile during the whole workout...you just punch and kick the crap out of your partner. About half of the class are women.
Tawnya - we do have a lot in common: same age, clueless H's, love of Calvin and Hobbes, love of Alias. Let me ask you this, did you have a huge crush on Vaughan (the character played by Michael (Michel) Vartan - who, by-the-by, really is French, well half-French and raised in the South of France, which is why his French accent while speaking French was always so good, he is bi-lingual.) Before my H left this planet, we watched the show together and he used to tease me about my love for Vaughan. He was okay with it b/c the guy is French. (In case you have not read far enough back in my thread, H is French-speaking Belgian and pretends to be French when it suits him).
Nasmat - no moral issue for me with guns, just a lot of trepidation. I think I will start with the a$$-kicking and see how that goes.
JWM - I do remember your saying you smile the whole time and that your instructor was amazed at how quickly you have been passing throught the levels. I hope to match your success.
Alias....!!! I thought that's just a 'Guy' show for us dudes..... With 'Talented' actress running around in tight and kick some A$$.... What a winning formula....! And yes, I am one of the dude.
Beth I am glad you have weekend line up. That's wonderful. Keep on dancing.....

Glad to hear from you. See, that's what I mean about me. Very girly-girl but I like action movies and chicks who kick-a$$. Maybe it is because I am a litigator. Maybe it is why I am a litigator. Who knows?
