I liked the other version better. For some reason this takes a different feel....vindictive or something..maybe like you are focusing on making her feel guilty rather than telling her the reality of the situation and how you wish it was different.........

(((wdid)))
On re-reading, it does sound vindictive and not really intended. Was it just the family comment? Or were there other thoughts?

How about:

"It would be reckless to pay for a trip to Hawaii when the future of our family is so uncertain. I didn't insist on cancelling the trip earlier because I hoped that you would stop your affair."

Nut, thank you for that. wdid, just to be clear, you like what Nut suggested over prior? I do want to add the "W, I agree that it has been a while since we talked about cancelling the trip." if for no other reason than to state that we had discussed. Ok?

WHAT FREAKING DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE???? Face it, she's going to blame you ANYWAY for this. Just send Nut's note, and be done with it. You've dithered too long already.

Or:

"It would be reckless to pay for a trip to Hawaii when the future of our family is so uncertain. I didn't insist on cancelling the trip when we talked about it in (October, November, etc.) because I hoped that you would end your affair."

Just trying to help with the words.

lol Oh, puppy. He's right, though lis.

Lis is just making sure he's getting it all correct. Stressful situations cause us to overanalyze. Go with nut's suggestion (yes, that's what I was saying). Done.

((((lis)))))
