I think it is excellent that you had that conversation with your ex. The fact that she can recognize you for the amazing man and father that you are, despite her actions, speaks volumes to me. She knows you aren't the problem and never were, it was about something that SHE needed. And she is aware of all the fallout now, looking back at the past year.
I am surprised, like you, that she is fine with moving to a new place. That is a big step to take with an "ex" spouse, not that you would be living together, but just that she would uproot and go with you b/c she knows how much the kids mean to you...
