Jeff,

23 years! 1 more than me. Ughhh. Brother. I'm sorry. 4 boys, Ughh some more. What happened? You're probably right about D18. She was drug involved. Confided in STBX she was pregnant while I was in Iraq. (W. never told me, because she felt "It wasn't her place"......IMAGINE IF I SAID THAT?) Today, STBX's questions were"

1. What do you plan to do w D18 while you're at the hockey tournament? (She will stay at my place. She can't go with STBX and D16, because they are oil and water/ She's 18. What can I do?)

2. AND...I love this one: "And you plan on taking her back to school when?" HER EXACT FUC*KING WORDS! (Hands on buzzers: press once for Saturday, twice for Sunday, three times for all of the above)

D18 CANNOT be with STBX for any more than 2 hours. STBX decides NOW she will play "Easter Egg Hunt" with my decisions or lack of them or the validity of them or how correct/incorrect/incomplete they are!

As a friend of mine in Iraq said when he read her letter about her Smarmyattorneyboss buying D16 a Jeep: "Who the fu*k talks like that? She talks to you like an employee!"

Michelle: S10 IS the silver lining.....at least for now......

FLTC,
I hope that you can further detach from STBXW. Once you reach this point, all of her snide remarks will actually start to entertain you. I definitely need to get back to this place myself!

Anyway, enjoy the good moments with your kids when they come and don't sweat the small stuff!

Happy Thanksgiving, SD

Have the kids, but this holiday alone sucks. This IS my life, however. Back to the kids AND the cooking sherry!

I usually baste my turkey with soy sauce and sherry.....but the real stuff, not COOKING sherry. Isn't it salty? I didn't have either so I used oil and wine. Turned out perfect!

This year was easier for me than last year......so next year should be even better for both of us!!!

Thanks, Mattie. Hopefully, it will be. Went to watch a football game at the high school where I played with some of my friends from high school. It was good to see so many faces from years gone by. The sad part is, however, that my friends from so many years ago all have grown kids, and are settling into their empty nests. I look at how much time has gone by for me being with the same woman, and wonder if I'll ever be in a fulfilling relationship...EVER.

On another note, D18 just blurted out yesterday: "I think I'll have smarmylawyerboss take me skiing. He said he would last time I was home".

I just flatly stated "Smarmy is a scumbag, and you know why I feel that way".(By the way, as does SHE). I'm NOT keeping quiet to my 18 year old about him. I NEVER bring him up, but never fail to weigh in when she does. I then said, "So you're just going to continue to use him?" She flatly stated "Yep".

I know you're all going to throw stones at me for that one. On a good note, I head to a 3 day hockey tournament with S10 today. At least $600, but you know what? Who cares? I'll push shopping carts in the local supermarket if need be to keep him in hockey.

He won a full scholarship to the program this year, about $3500, because he was so courageous while I was in Iraq. Apparently, he missed me a lot. They give a trophy and a scholarship out each year to one kid who demonstrates courage in the face of adversity, and MY SON got it! Awesome, huh?

Happy Thanksgiving FL,

I think God gives us a shining light to hold on to in adversity just to keep us grounded. From your posts, it seems that shining light is your son. If he had not received that scholarship, you may not be able to afford hockey. Or at the very least it would be a very bad time to have to pay that amount. So look at what he saved you. You would have paid it, but you might not have been able to do other things. So kudos go out to the kid who's a good one! But he'll too be a teen one day, so enjoy these good times with your baby boy.

FL, maybe you could ask your daughter not to bring up SLB. It's hurtful, regardless of whether or not she'll use him. My boys are now 18 FL, and although we disagree on lots of things, for the most part they are now respectful and I see them becoming men. Maybe because the bomb came just prior to their 12th birthday, I don't know. Sometimes I think that people who wait to D until the kids are grown to leave are just trying to kid themselves. The older they are the more they hurt. All we can do is stand our ground and keep them honest.

Have fun at the tournament this weekend.
