Goldey - dont worry about what H's friends and family are going to testify. When it comes down to it, a court appointed counselor will be able to determine what is best based upon interviews with the kids, H and yourself. You got a leg up on him literally and physically.
BTW... Dont test that pepper spray on yourself. This video should be convincing enough...
