Yes, I vote for in person as well. I don't want to sound pessimistic, but I honestly think you'll get nowhere should you choose to go the e-mail route.

Getting over a painful experience is much like crossing monkey bars. You have to let go at some point in order to move forward. ~ Joseph Campbell
Michelle I think in-person is best because then you can actually see his actions/reactions and body language, etc...
This is not an "e-mail" worthy talk. This warrants face to face discussion.
Glad to see that you are ready for whatever comes your way. Limboland is only good if it is in reference to a dance contest or the Karma Sutra
Have a great day.

Well, maybe it depends how you ask him? Would it be good to tell him why you want to meet? I hope he does say yes and seeing as he is still contacting you, theres a good chance he would want to? From an outsider.. you seem very detached and havent given him much to go on.. he took a big risk with what he said in his email and it seems you have been pretty 'cool' with him? And maybe thats because you were so detached and also sort of dating other guys?
Perhaps if you take a step toward him, it would make it easier for him to step toward you...
