Drift... Sid Barrett of Pink Floyd didn't really get booted out for using LSD. They don't really know what happened to him - he was on a heavy binge one weekend and fried his brain. They don't know what it is he actually took or made. He was really smart science wise and made drugs himself. They think he made and took something and whatever it was cooked his brain and he never recovered. He was in the band for a while longer but couldn't contribute and they moved on without him. He hung around though and my understanding was he had no idea what was going on. Don't think he ever knew he "left" the band. He was really *really* out there....
On this thread my opinion is tell him to man up and sh** or get off the pot and make a plan now. Timing IMO won't be a real big deal for the kids because of their age. IMO the sooner the enviornmemt changes stress wise the better.
