Just so you know my reason for not telling the kids yet... When I was 8 my parents took me to a park in August. I remember the park, the day and even what I was wearing. They told me that they were getting a divorce. 32 years later I still remember that day clearly. I'm glad it wasn't around the holidays. Just my two cents (worth one now due to market declines).
