Karen, Here's a thought on the neclace/whistle. Tell your DD that sometimes things are really special, and you only wear them on special occasions. Tell her that you will put it up for her for safe keeping. When she goes to vist daddy you'll let her wear it there to let them know how much she likes it. Yoyo you and I are SO on the same page with this one. I wouldn't have it go missing because if there was thought behind it, thats what they are expecting. They do NOT expect you to let her wear it, let alone make SURE she wears it around them. I would tell that Daddy and OW would LOVE it if she would come up with a song for them while she is with them...
If they see her wearing it, it won't have the affect they were going for so hopefully it will stop. Sorry that they have to be passive/agressive f*cktards, but they are so just let them have their 2nd grade fun and be the better person. Sucks.
