It is so good to read your posts!! Lisa, you made me laugh so hard. I think I am going to *print out* your post and highlight it and ... practice!!! and try some of those techniques! Essie, I'm very eager to get an update on your situation.
The recital went really well. I was SO stressed before I performed, but I think it went really well. My parents came down from Virginia (12-14 hour drive) and they were so supportive and loving!! My cello friends came, and some of my yoga friends too, so it was like a collision of multiple transformer worlds.
ALSO, on Saturday afternoon, the day before the recital, I got this text from B:
Are you playing your recital soon? If so, good luck! I hope it goes well and you are able to enjoy it with your friends.
It made me SO HAPPY to hear from him out of the blue. So he must have been "Keeping track" of when my recital would be. I still hadn't called him back, so it is interesting that he reached out. I think this is maybe the fourth (?) time he has initiated a contact out of nowhere... and the first time it's been through a text.
I waited an hour and a half and then texted him back:
Good memory! It's tomorrow night and i am excited! Thanks to the recording you sent me I had a big breakthrough on the franck [one of the pieces on my recital]. Have an awesome weekend!
I tried to think of a response that would encourage a response from him, but I couldn't think of anything except to ask him what he thought of a link I sent him, and in case he didn't like it I just decided not to ask.
So I guess i can call him whenever I want now?? Even though my recital is now complete, I have an oral comprehensive exam on thursday that I am going to be busting my tail over for the next three days, and then monday after that is my first try to pass my piano proficiency... BLeguhdkkdfj!!
Eagerly awaiting your thoughts as always, LOVE, tRANSFORMER
