HM I will be joining you on that bench where no other family is. My H's family, his Mom, siblings, their spouses, nephews and their spouses are pretty much my only family. I have one sister I don't have a very good relationship with and I have a half sister that just contacted me last year after no contact for 20 years.
My H dropped another bomb last night and I am not even going to try and turn it around. I am resigned. He is incapable (or at least unwilling) to do any real work. He thinks being physically here is working on the marriage. He says he has done everything to make it work. In reality he has done nothing.

Yikes! Is your husband a lifelong fence-sitter who now, in mlc, makes snap decisions (that now affect you and your family in a highly negative way?) Is he a "man of God" who has managed to convince himself that he's entitled to more than just his family, and chosen "self-actualization" over stability and fidelity? Does he seem bent on punishing you for whatever by making your life one painful revelation after another, and deciding you should live in poverty while he lives in luxury--altho you supported him through 3 years of education to get to where he is now? Then maybe we are married to the same guy! Or maybe they're simply following the same old tired script....
