Thinking of you BBJ.

Its all I have today. Memories and anniversaries like this are best forgotten.

Find a few positive things (e.g., like your kids) and forcus on them. It helps. A little.

Be positive (sorry John, she needed it).

OK, as a rule, crappy 'anniversaries' like this should not occur on the same day as your monthly visitor, that is a hormonal nightmare, isn't it?

OK I am focusing on the positives:
**My kids love me and they really love each other, which is great for a brother and sister who drive each other crazy sometimes

**I really like my job and I get to present at the school board meeting tonight which I think will be fun

**In terms of H, he asked me yesterday what our plans are for Thanksgiving so he could make plans with his uncle for us getting together with his side of the family, too. Which means H is planning on us doing Thanksgiving together. He also asked me why we needed tickets to my niece's dance recital in December. He didn't realize it isn't a dance recital, they tried out and made it on the Des Moines Symphony's "Nutcracker" ballet for this year. They are 8 and 5 and get to dance in this big production....point being, H is planning to go with me to this event in December, which sounds good to me. Slow and steady....

Hello all...

MIL had her follow up appt. yesterday from her bladder tumor surgery. She does have cancer. They found it in the tumor and in some surrounding tissue. They have to go back in 6 weeks and do another surgery, cutting out more tissue through another layer or two of muscle....that sucks. No mention of chemo or radiation at this point, just plans for another surgery before Christmas.

FIL had his 4-month checkup from when he had prostate cancer 2 years ago. When he went 4 months ago his PSA was up from 0 to 0.75, I guess it is supposed to be zero? (that's what FIL said) Anyway yesterday when he went it was 3.5. They were concerned it jumped so much in 4 months...he has to meet with an oncologist next week, and they want to start him on some sort of treatment where you put a pill under the skin and it blocks testosterone, which is feeding the cancer, they think....

No surprise H had a raging migraine again last night (actually by the way he kept rubbing his neck it was prob. tension headache). He slept out on the couch, AGAIN....I brought him out an ice pack, he said thank you, this morning a kiss goodbye and ILY so on one hand not sleeping in same bed but on other hand I get the kiss goodbye...

Just going to pray for his parents and be as supportive as I can be. How often do a husband and wife both find they have cancer, on the same day?

Whew, BBJ. I'm sorry to hear the bad news about both of his parents. I'm sure that he is glad that he moved back home so he can be near them now. But this is another obstacle to him finding time to focus on the marriage. You do have so much on your plate right now.

I am having a minor stress attack at the moment. I am on lunch and I googled PSA levels. from what I have read, for a man who has had the prostate gland removed (FIL did, 2 yrs ago), if the PSA level rises within 3 years from the surgery, and if the PSA level doubles in less than a year (his more than quadrupled), those are very ominous signs. 50% chance of survival for the next 6 years, 10% chance of survival for next 10 years, and 1% chance of survival for 15 years.

I need to get off the internet.........
