Just needed to get back on the board. My last thread locked like my M16 in Iraq. Full of sand and jammed.

D18 is home from school and on my couch. She seems to have made some inroads with "her mother"....you know how I love "divorce speak" (and sarcasm AND cynicism!) She may even be going to lunch with her. We'll see how long that truce lasts. Got S10 this weekend, so all is right with the world!

FIRST!!!! Um...how about a large vanilla tea? You can save the alcohol and pass it along to the next friend ;\)

Good that D18 is making some inroads. Just be a good ear for her. Any big plans with the two of them and you this weekend (I know, hockey!). I'm taking D to NYC the MOMA on Saturday, son is at paintball with scouts.

Glad you're back, FLTC. I am like you and usually check here as I drink my morning coffee. I haven't started a new thread for myself, but I enjoy keeping up with others. Hope the mother-daughter truce lasts thru the weekend to help with your sanity.
What do you and your son have planned?

How do you refer to your wife? (I know you don't say STBXW out loud). I still slip and call my "ex" my "husband" at times and depending on who I am talking to I may not even correct myself. At the parent teacher conference I found myself saying "D18's dad" or I just call him by his name. It's awkward.

Enjoy the weekend whatever you do!

Good to see you started a new thread.

Love that D18 and STBXW have a truce, for however long. Seems like there are some ways for them to get along!

Have a great weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BOY, I AM Pi$$ED, and for once i't NOT exactly with WAS. D18 was home from school this weekend, and stayed with me. A couple of weeks ago, she asked for $100, because she had run out of money. STBX would not giver her a cent and with good reason. STBX continuously warned her about pis7ing money away, despite making some good money over the summer. D18 continued to spend.

I felt sorry for her, and thought she was really making some progress; good grades, fairly civil to everyone, so I gave her the benefit of the doubt and sent her a check. She came home and told me she had "forgotten" to bring money home, and could I lend her $10. STBX drove her back to school last night.

I had a plastic container filled with loose change (doesn't everyone?) in my closet. When I went to put some change in it last night, it was gone. Has about $100 in it. The only possible explanation is D18. I called her and she denied it. I am furious with her.

hey soldier, sorry d18 isnt' being truthful, you are right to be furious. When you talked to her let her know you are disappointed (instead of mad at her) and to not expect any more money until she shows some respect towards you by telling the truth.

Hey Mattie, cat (been a while cat!),

Man, I am sooooo disappointed, and afraid that she might be up to her old ways.

Went to S10's school to speak for Veteran's Day. He was very proud of me. sooooo bittersweet. I feel so empty today. Ugh.
