GG, I know I am fortunate to have that man as my boss. He is demanding professionally, but compassionate personally. A person of character. I lucked out.

Upside! I always liked that name, so optimistic.
I'm glad you think I am sometimes able to offer some insight. I'm hoping to just lend a different perspective to people. We all need that sometimes. a different look. a step back.

Upside, I like your list.

Here's mine for today. I am thankful today for...
  • Lasagne I was set to make a teriyaki flank steak for the kids this weekend, but my daughter (10) had other ideas. She wanted lasagne, so lasagne is what we had. Special trip to the store and everything. I was so glad to do it because she wanted me to. We brought all the stuff and then my 13-year old son and I made the lasagne. Bechamel sauce and everything - a recipe from Emeril. It was not exactly "Cooking Light" but what the heck. It came out great! Everybody loved it.
  • Hide and seek we planned a movie night at home last night, but all 4 kids had to get bathed first. Once a week whether they need it or not! While we waited for the boys to finish their showers, the girls and I played hide and seek in the house, what a blast! My 10 yr old is really good.
  • Work For some reason my girls wanted to play "work" this weekend, so they made desks on the windowsills, got office supplies, and got to work. I was the boss. They kept asking me for more work. I had them send out bills, do the payroll, my 10 year old even did the accounts receivable and balanced the books! This was so neat.
  • Foot rubs and tickles - I gave my 6-yr old daughter a foot rub last night and she loved it. She just kept switching feet for me. "Keep going daddy!" You know I loved THAT. And then today she was doing a spider tickle song on my back. What a joy.
  • hopes for the future My (almost) 12 year old wants to go camping with me, he said "only if it's in the mountains." He wants the real stuff. And he also wants to play racquetball with me. We were doing this before his mother put a stop to it. We'll do it again, soon. I love thinking about the future with these special souls.

ps: yes, the "they bathe once a week" crack was a joke.
