Not much to report H and I chatted last night for a bit when I called so the kids could tell him goodnight. It rang and rang and went to voicemail. When he called back it showed up "restricted". My mom had mentioned that when he called her place to talk to the kids when I had night class.
Anyway I mentioned it saying restricted and he was all animated and said that he couldn't figure out what was up with Los Angeles, that it was showing up that way when he called the office in Omaha, too. He was telling me how weird his phone was, that he never heard it ring, that it wasn't showing missed calls, he was checking his e-mail and noticed he had a new voice message, that was how he knew we had called, etc etc.
Basically it was just him talking to me about the strange little events of his trip. But it was HOW he was talking to me. He sounded like himself, and he sounded comfortable, relaxed talking to me.
I sent him a text at 8 this morning--6 L.A. time. Just said, "Have a safe trip, we have missed you!" I always send something right before he flies, it is a little superstition of mine that I have to wish him a safe trip...
Anyway he replied right back, "Just got on the plane, barely made it on time"
Typically if he was running late he wouldn't have bothered to reply, well typically this past year anyway.
So I am pretty confident that we are at least "friends" at this point. And I am happy with that for now. Beats the alternative.
I have been talking/texting back and forth with Dan...
He called earlier to tell me that his flight got delayed, they had to get OFF the plane for "mechanical problems". 90 minutes later, when he called, he was getting back on the same plane to try it again, that always freaks me out a little!
Then H just called to say he is in Denver but obv. missed the connecting flight since his flight was late...Now he is trying to get on a flight that leaves in 10 minutes, flying "standby"....If that doesn't happen he gets to fly out at 9 tonight. 6 more hours in Denver airport....ick
