I would counter lies with the truth.

I don't mean flip out on her and start raising hell.
I mean first chance you get, counter.
Then go about your business.
Let her flip if she's gonna flip (obviously you wouldn't do this in front of the children).
You might not be prepared to do that.
I can without a doubt tell you that's what I'd do though.
