Exactly! What made them think that you had spreadsheet experience? Was it a question on an app?
Move on to the next thing, karen.
Don't be down on yourself. Not your fault for not knowing the computer stuff.
I just turned in my resume for the job and I don't have any spreadsheet, Excel, or MAC experience listed and never said anything about that. The director did say it was using a MAC and I told her I've used a PC for the past 20 years and never used a MAC. Maybe both of us were a little too optimistic/unrealistic in the interview. I'm going to be more careful next time (hopefully) and ask what the actual job entails. I don't think she did stress the spreadsheet/MAC that much or I would have been more leery going in.
The other office jobs are done by volunteers. It turns out a woman in my church I made friends with is a big board member, lots of influence, and when she wanted me to have the job I think the director was really swayed by that. And she was too nice to fire me, but I was really out of my element. What's funny, when I see jobs with lots of spreadsheet, Excel, or MAC I wouldn't even apply to a job that listed that. I never did see a job description or anything about the job; my friend just called to tell me about it. I think everyone wanted it to work out and it just kind of didn't.
I really do have a lot of stuff going on, besides divorce hearing and mediation this month, the kids' C also recommended the kids get occupational therapy evals, we are just starting the eval process for that next week, so probably will be taking the kids to OT in January for a few months and that's usually about 2x a week and about 1.5 hour drive to and from (did it with S14 in the past). The kids are both sick with colds now so I do like being able to stay home and take care of them and make them chicken soup and stuff. Maybe I could still do an evening or weekend job, but need to fit in some hs time too. Karen
