Some Thursday journaling...

Arranged a call with OMW for tonight - will post when done but will be late.

Last night was playing video games with S13 (ok, was getting owned by S13 actually). W comes down.

W: S13, what are you doing? You are supposed to be going to bed.
S13: Am playing games with dad since I won't see him for a couple days (see later for more on that). Good father / son time.
W: I thought I said no more vid games? We talked about that.
S13: you said no more x-box Live, nothing about vid games totally.
W: this is not acceptable, shut it off.

S13 was getting madder, but I did say to him to listen to his mom. I also gave him a big hug before he went upstairs.

W and S13 are off to another city for a hockey tournament. I agreed to stay here and come later (the girls didn't want to miss school and S13 and I are off on vacation next week anyway for 6 days). So W asks when D11 and I are coming down. I said Friday. She freaks out - needs to find herself a place to stay then, D11 wants to come Sat. I say (calmly) that we had talked about me coming for the game at 5 tomorrow afternoon. She is pi$$y and says let me know so I can make arrangements. I simply respond "ok, we will let you know tonight."

Made coffee again this morning. (I am trying wdid, I am...)

This morning I am in the den and D16, S13 and W are at the kitchen table. D16 and I are talking. D16 then asks a question, and I answer. W gets pi$$y (see a pattern??).

W: why did dad answer? I was right here.
D16: well I was talking to him as well.
W: but I was going to answer. Didn't you make eye contact with me?
D16: yeah so. How was dad to know that. Don't need to get ticked.
S13: yeah mom, how was dad to know that.

What kids!

W asks S13 to print a couple things off on the computer. I am sitting right there so S13 says "dad, can you print..." and W stops him. W says "S13, you go do that for me." S13 says to W "why, dad is right there". I pipe in and say "S13, what is you need bud?" No problem.

Maybe just my sense, but appears the eldest two kids are getting less and less patient with this...
