God used different ways in the Old Testament to reveal things to people which from the way it was explained to me does not mean it is the same today.
They did not have the Bible back then and so things were revealed differently.

MWG, I agree that God used different ways to speak to the people in the Old Testament. I also do believe that God can use both Old Testament and New Testament verses/scripture to send us messages.

Last night, I had yet another dream about my H. It was a nice and comfortable dream. We had things to do and (again, as in other dreams) it all seemed so normal between us. I woke up with a smile and felt gratitude to God for sending me the dream...
It is akin to driving 3000 miles across the country, on a road, we've never traveled before. All we are told is to STAY on this road and it will get us to our destination. And it is only when we occasionally see a road SIGN with the route # -- as CONFIRMATION that YES -- we ARE still on the "right" road -- that we take a deep breath and relax.

And you're very right that the number 3 has much spiritual significance. The number 3 is spiritually the number of completion and perfection. It is used throughout the bible to denote divine perfection. So it would make sense that God uses the #3 to confirm His messages to us.
And how wonderful to awaken from such sweet dreams! It is a good sign that you and your H get along so well and so comfortably in your dreams. It seems to signal that God is working behind the scenes on your behalf.

Yeah. And how coincidental that you wrote that this signals that God is working behind the scenes on my behalf... Something in Charlyne's devotional today really struck me - she recommended praising and thanking God for working on our spouse!!!! It just seems to me that so many things seem to connect together.....
We have to trust Him and believe that He has a plan, not only for us but for our Spouses also, and when it all comes together....we will truly understand why we had to go through this trial.

You're right that there are no coincidences. A bad choice of words on my part ;).
God sure is teaching me to trust Him and to trust in His perfect plan and timing.
People (and Charlyne) talk about inviting their spouse for the holidays but in my case, I feel as if I am the one is being ostracized bcause my H spends the holidays with his kids anyway. So it's not as if I am preventing him from seeing his family. Also, I don't know if inviting my H over for holidays would do more harm than good. I guess I also don't feel strong enough to be turned down.
This is a perfect opportunity for you to ask God for guidance!
Formulate your question -- and then ask God to provide you with signs and messages as confirmation -- as to what you should do about the holidays and your H.
Then just pay attention b/c you will receive your guidance!
