What is it with these LBS'? Do they all become so enthralled by hedonism, so focused on the material things in life -- money, possessions, power, sex, etc -- that they no longer have souls? Are these just isolated cases, aberrations from the accepted norm? Or is this a sign of our culture? A disease of epidemic proportions that is rotting our civilization from within?

Karen, I am truly sorry your H has become utterly corrupted, such that he would be so cruel to and unconcerned for the welfare of his wife and children. But you are a kind and lovely person who will persevere and thrive, despite his repeated betrayals.

Hugs and blessings, smiley lady.

The answer would be D...all of the above NoCode. I seriously think that its all of the things you have mentioned. The breakdown of the family is reaching epidemic proportions and it is leading to the demise of everything that we know and hold dear. Its a systematic breakdown of morals and values, its so sad. How do you instill these things in your children when society pretty much tells you, "if it feels good, do it."

Apparently pretty good b/c I GOT THE JOB!!! \:\)

She was asking me if I could start tomorrow but I had already scheduled 3 or 4 appointments tomorrow so she said I could start next Wednesday. Super cool job. It's part administrative assistant, part greeting people, part working/helping the 7 or 8 volunteers on projects, and they have an annual gala in January I would be helping on and planning activities. So sounds totally cool! Pay isn't much b/c it's nonprofit, and I found a home daycare for D8 so that will prob. eat up half my check but I guess that's how it goes, and I'll get some great current job experience since I haven't worked in 9 years.

My L's office called right before the interview (I'm only 2 minutes away) but I still was like I have a job interview in 10 minutes can I call you back? I had told them yesterday but guess they forgot or something. And she scheduled a hearing on November 13th so I guess I will have to already ask for time off right away!!! Yuck!!!

Oh, it turns out they do a lot of work with the theatre, and you know I'm friends with everyone from there. I told her she could use the theatre director as a reference if she'd like. She kind of rolled her eyes and said she'd already had lots of references on me. Apparently my theatre friends and church friends put in lots of good words for me. It's a small town and you know how that is. \:\)

The theatre director also dropped by while I was at the interview and asked me to fill in for a volunteer again on another haunted tour they're having Saturday I think, so will probably do that, too. Need to go see him now and see if I can/want to do that but probably will. Karen

Thanks you guys! It's 10 to 5 on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Half hour lunch break it's a block from the house so I can make lunch for the kids and I. I want to put D8 in daycare 2 of the afternoons (found a home daycare that will do Wed and Fri afternoons, so she'll only be home with S15 (birthday November 10th) alone about 10 hours a week. H is balking at the $60 a week cost, because I'll probably be able to take home only about $80 a week I figure after taxes/day care. Yeah, he's all about the kids like he tells me! \:\/ Karen

Well gee, he bugs you to get a job, you get a job . Now he is finding even more to complain about. He should be excited that it is a little extra income. What did he think was going to happen??? What a big baby!!!
