Because facing reality would mean facing what an a$$hole he truly has become and that is not something that WAWs are able to do. It ruins their whole "I'm ok, you're ok, BS." Sorry I'm not much help here on this one. I'm having similar issues with mine and I'm just not able to stomach anymore of the "boo hoo, my life is so tough, pity me" crap from anyone anymore.
