2008 = Crazy Year (Fiery 15)

Last night was not quite what I had thought it might be in that there was no conv with the other mom that I mentioned. BUT it was a BLAST.

54, the booze was flowing but given location and fund raising theme (hockey team), the conv really stuck to hockey. Don't think I sat down once other than to eat supper. Caught up with a lot of dads, and even some moms, that I hadn't talked to in a while. And it is events like that where you realize there are single folks out there in case needed...

All in all was a GREAT evening. Only downside was that S13 was home alone and he really doesn't like that late at night. I had been out for 4.5 hours so called it a night when he started texting me every 5 minutes.

Had a couple text message exchanges with W yesterday. One was kid related - more parent / teacher conferences I had to attend solo since W is vacationing, so I let her know what the teachers said about the K's.

Second was classic "fix this please". She wanted me to order a cable package for the vacation property in Phoenix. I had looked at it a couple days ago but didn't order. She texts me while I am out last night asking about it. My response, after an hour delay in responding, was "Not sure what's up with that. Will have to look online when I get home". Silly little conv, but nice to see she was in watching tv while I was out having a blast.

Hockey practice today, so will run into a lot of these folks again at the rink (other teams have a practice at similar time at a rink with 4 ice surfaces, so it is usually a 2 beer practice ).
