Dr Love, Come up with big goals for your exercise plan. Last year I ran (finished) a marathon, I am not built to be a long distance runner but it was on a goal sheet I had. I still can't believe I did it. Find a race in town and commit to running it. Tell all your friend/family you are doing it. More accountablity and motivation. I had "friends" tell me there was no way I could do a marathon so that just kept me focused on the training and keep moving during the race.
Start thinking and acting like I am in training for this event, makes you think like a athlete.
I like mixing up the cardio and the lifting works better for me.
Cheers
ps I could hardly run a mile when I started training for the marathon. I trained for 8 months to get ready. Lot of early morning runs to beat the heat.
