I LOOOOOOVE my Dyson! I wouldn't ever go to another vacuum. I think it's totally worth it. And, if you have a Kohl's near you, wait until they have them on sale (they do alot of times) and add a coupon to that and you save a bunch!

Oh, and let me add here that I moved into a house where this person also had a Dyson and loved her (I know because the neighbors always borrowed it \:\) ) She didn't use the Dyson in the basement for some reason, that was her hubby's office and the dog was down there all the time. When I used the Dyson in the basement I sucked up a whole canister of dog fur! It works AWESOME!

Yes you are!! My heart hurts for you that you don't get to see your kids daily and be a full-time parent. But the only way to stay sane is to focus on the positive!

I was a bit suprised today though, a guy in the grocery store started up a convo with me. It was all about sports, which I didn't have a clue but just said "now that's a game you wouldn't want to miss".

It was nice though a complete stranger decided to chat with me. I was in my work out wear and all.
I have coffee men at my local caffeine refill station. Edgy gay guys with lots of tattoos and piercings. We are about of equal interest to each other.

Yes, Coffee Ladies! There's a little coffee shop not far from my place. Rather than sit at home by myself in the morning for my coffee, I go and see them. There's a drive-through window, but I go into the shop so I can chat and talk. They're all very funny. I look forward to it every day.

I asked them why there are no men who work at the shop, do they have something against men? And they told me they scare them all away!

GG, it is nice when a stranger shares a kindness with you!

Yes, I love my Dyson, too. I was gonna buy it at Kohl's or Target but then saw a model on sale at Costco (which is a shopping club, like Sam's Club) and it was $100 cheaper.

I don't know if it is really "worth it", but I have bought a bunch of vaccums in my day and most of them stink. They beat the carpet and raise all this dust - if you vacuum during a sunny day (not recommended, get yer butt outside and play!) you see this cloud of dust trailing around with the vacuum. The Dyson doesn't do that. It has a seal around the spindle so that it sucks better. And it gets the edges, where other vacuums don't.

I appreciate the design of the Dyson - it is well put together. The controls feel right. It doesn't feel cheap. It's easy and clean to empty the dustbin. The attachments work.

Is a Mercedes Benz "worth it"? Well, it's not worth it to me, because I cannot afford a Mercedes, but they are very well designed cars. I can appreciate them. And the Dyson is like that, to me. It's my Mercedes! (When I am not fantasizing, I drive a 10-yr old volvo)

Hoozh, this made me laugh:

Today I am thankful for:
  • the chaos of my four kids - I enjoyed just being around them today.
  • A certain innocent, precious 6-year old who is filled with boundless enthusiasm.
  • Pumpkin soup

Today I am thankful for:
  • work - I am doing some good stuff at work, it's engaging and challenging and rewarding.
  • a text message from my daughter saying "goodnight daddy"
  • encouragement from the lady at lunch, who said "you've got to be more positive!" She was talking about something totally different, but I think her advice is general.

The kids have begin staying with me overnights, on some weekends. we're still negotiating the days they will stay over.

I'd like to get them friday night through monday morning (drop them off at school), and then some wednesday nights through the weekend.

We'll see what she agrees to. In my state she is the one holding all the cards.
